The Israeli army said 152 soldiers have been killed so far in its offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, AFP reports.

It said nine soldiers died in fighting yesterday, one of the deadliest days for the military since it launched a ground assault in the Palestinian territory on October 27.
