Haj experience digitised through mobile app

ISLAMABAD: Haj operations for pilgrims have been digitised with the development of a mobile app.

Caretaker IT Minister, Dr Umar Saif and caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed jointly launched the application developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB) on Wednesday.

The minister said the mobile app enables pilgrims to register using the OTP received via SMS. Users will be provided with a unique ID, that is their CNIC and application number. The app allows pilgrims to access real-time updates on their Haj application status. It also allows pilgrims to view their Haj training schedules, flight details as well as current information about Makkah and Madina accommodations.
