World Health Organisation chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has highlighted the impact of Israeli bombing on women and children in Gaza, saying that they account for 70 per cent of deaths in the enclave.

“[…] military measures cannot lead to a lasting solution, it becomes clear that a ceasefire and a pursuit of a political resolution offer the way out of this mess/tragedy. Ceasefire now!” he wrote on X.
