US top official Sullivan wraps up meeting with Palestinian president Abbas
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera reports.
The US is seeking a Palestinian-led authority to take over Gaza with Arab countries contributing with their forces, including from Jordan and Egypt.
Sullivan said he wants 3,000 to 5,000 people to be re-trained in the occupied West Bank to be sent into Gaza.
He also added that the Palestinian Authority should be revamped with a clear mandate to rule.
