OKARA, Feb 21: Telephones of six villages in Gogera, some 25km away from here on Okara-Faisalabad Road, have been lying silent for more than a month.
It is learnt that telephones of Fatehpur, Chak Khan Muhammad, Mauza Shareen, Hamand Key, Chunnu Matam and Thatta Tahalka villages are out of order and the PTCL authorities in the district have turned a deaf ear to the repeated complaints of the subscribers.
A number of subscribers told journalists on Tuesday that telephone cables have outlived their life and have not yet been replaced.
They urged the PTCL high-ups to order replacement of old cables and restore their connections.
It may be added that the cables in Okara city have been worn out and telephones remained out of order. No PTCL employee bother to rectify fault despite repeated complaints and visits to office.
