Australia’s Warner backs Khawaja’s decision to wear black armband in Gaza protest

Australian cricketer David Warner said the team supports Usman Khawaja, who wore a black armband and wrote messages on his shoes supporting people in Gaza in a muted protest during the first Test against Pakistan, AFP reports.

“He’s entitled to his opinion and we fully support that,” Warner said.

“He’s a really good mate of mine and I know this is something really close to his heart. All we can do is support Uzzie and his views on that.”
