Head of Gaza hospital says situation ‘extremely difficult’
Ahmed al-Kahlout, head of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, says the situation at the hospital is “extremely difficult” because of a lack of water, food, and fuel, Al Jazeera reports.
“We have been under siege for more than four days now,” he told Al Jazeera. Israeli army tanks are surrounding the hospital and the bombardment is “very, very intense”, he said.
Israeli forces targeted the women’s maternity unit “without prior warning or explanation”, he said, adding two mothers were killed along with their newborn babies.
“No one can leave because of the threat of gunfire and snipers all around,” al-Kahlout said.
