Israel expands raids scope across occupied West Bank
Israel is keeping up the pressure in cities, villages and refugee camps across the occupied West Bank as it expands the scope of its raids, according to Al Jazeera’s Hoda Abdel-Hamid.
“Compared to the first month of the war when raids were done overnight, now that has expanded with raids in broad daylight with convoys followed by bulldozers who usually signal the demolition of houses or infrastructure in the area,” Abdel-Hamid said, reporting from Ramallah.
The focus of these raids has largely been on refugee camps, including Jenin, Tulkarem and Nur Shams. Earlier today another military incursion took place in the Far’a refugee camp, north of the strip, where health authorities said at least six Palestinians were shot dead.
There, at least a dozen people have been injured, Abdel-Hamid reported — a figure that is likely to increase as ambulances were still moving bodies to hospitals nearby. Videos verified by Al Jazeera showed Israeli army tanks obstructing the passage of ambulances.
