US State Department spokesperson Mathew Miller has said that the US has taken “every measure that we could to speak loudly and clearly” to Israel that it needed “to do everything it can to minimise civilian harm”.

He made the remarks in response to a question about whether the US would consider the death of five premature babies in Gaza as a war crime.

Terming the incident a “tragedy”, he said, “It is why we have made clear that far too many Palestinians have been killed.”
