Almost 1.9m people displaced across Gaza Strip: UN
The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees has said that nearly 1.9 million people, comprising over 80 per cent of the population in the Gaza Strip, have been displaced across the Palestinian enclave.
In a situation report released today, it said that at least 218 displaced persons living at UN shelters in Gaza have been killed in Israeli airstrikes since Oct 7 while over 900 were injured.
“I haven’t eaten for days, whatever little food we receive, it is not enough and I give it to my children. It is so difficult to get water and my child got diarrhea from drinking dirty water.
“I am alone with no support, I am scared for myself and my children, I don’t know what to do,” the report quoted a widow with three children living at a UNRWA camp as saying.
