PESHAWAR, Oct 16: Tribesmen supporting Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam took out a protest demonstration at Mohmand agency, in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) on Tuesday and condemned US air strikes on Afghanistan.

Some of the participants also resorted to aerial firing and burnt an effigy of the US president Bush.

Maulana Ghulam Saadiq, who led the rally, while speaking on the occasion declared need to wage Jihad along with Taliban in their fight against US and allied forces.

On this occasion, several tribesmen donated cattle, chickens and other items of daily consumption to JUI for dispatching the same to Afghanistan for the Taliban fighters.

Tribesmen hold demo: A large number of tribesmen of Mohmond and Bajur agencies staged a demonstration to condemn the US-led airstrikes on Afghanistan.

They lashed out at the Pakistan government for supporting the allied forces’ military campaign against the war-torn Afghanistan.

The tribesmen also condemned those Pukhtoon nationalist leaders, who were said to have made anti-Taliban and anti-Osama statements.

The joint demonstration, held at Mohammad Gat Muqam, an area between both the agencies, was led by a JUI-F leader.

The JUI leader warned the Pakistan army that if it joined hands with the allied forces, the tribesmen would wage a “holly” war against the army, too.

Speaking to the demonstrators, speakers claimed that the US had waged a war against Islam and not against Afghanistan and the Taliban. They vowed to resist the attacks till the last drop of their blood.
