Israel will facilitate the provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza’s civilians as fighting there resumes, a senior adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said, Reuters reports.

Addressing reporters’ questions about whether Israel seeks a buffer zone on the Palestinian side of the Gaza Strip after the conflict is over, Mark Regev said Israel will not allow a situation in which Hamas fighters are positioned on the border.
