UN chief Antonio Guterres says Palestinians and Israelis have finally seen a “glimmer of hope” in recent days following the temporary truce between Hamas and Israel.

“Negotiations are taking place to prolong the truce — which we strongly welcome — but we need a true humanitarian ceasefire,” he wrote on X.
