WHO chief says disease risk increasing in Gaza
The head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that overcrowding in Gaza could spread infectious diseases in the densely populated enclave, Reuters reports.
“With severe overcrowding, the risks are increasing for epidemics of respiratory tract infections, acute watery diarrhoea, hepatitis, scabies, lice and other diseases,” said WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
