PESHAWAR: Dr Quraish Khan, an assistant inspector general (AIG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, was conferred with the Commonwealth Award 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya, the other day.
A statement issued here on Tuesday said Dr Quraish was given the prestigious award for his efforts to introduce innovations in the policing.
It said Dr Quraish’s achievements included his pioneering book on Police Technophobia, establishment of Institute of Forensic Science in Peshawar on self-help basis and establishment of first-ever women reporting centre in the merged areas.
He was one of the 15 personalities, who were awarded the Commonwealth Award 2023. He was selected out of 3000 nominees from 56 countries of the Commonwealth. He is the first-ever Pakistani police officer having received the award.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Akhtar Hayat Khan felicitated Dr Quraish for the achievement and termed him an asset of KP police.
