Reports of disease breakouts in refugee shelters

Mohamed Adnan Abu Hasnah, an UNRWA spokesperson, has described to Al Jazeera the scenes witnessed in northern Gaza.

“At Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, people are lining up at the last working petrol station. Aids trucks are supposed to deliver gas to this station as people are using wood for cooking and keeping warm.

“Ambulances are also lined up hoping to fill up. We can confirm that 100 trucks entered northern Gaza today and that some water desalination plants were provided with fuel.

“However, at least 200 trucks are needed on a daily basis to provide basic life supplies to the people of Gaza. Those who have fled are in poor health condition and there are reports of disease breakouts in the shelters.”
