Youngest player King books semifinal berth

BANGALORE, Feb 17: Teenager Vania King of the United States defeated France’s Camille Pin to enter the semifinals of the 175,000-dollar WTA Bangalore Open here on Friday.

King, the youngest player in the singles draw, beat Pin 6-2, 7-6 and then said it was one of the toughest matches she had played.

SAN JOSE (California), Feb 17: Top-seeded American Andy Roddick kept his bid for a SAP Open three-peat alive on Thursday, but he had to work to get past Kenneth Carlsen and into the quarterfinals.

Roddick defeated the Dane 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, and despite dropping the second set.
