BAHAWALPUR, Feb 17: The national conference on Pakistan foreign policy, which concluded at the Islamia University’s Ghotvi Hall on Thursday night, has recommended to the government that it should focus on long-term trade relations with China.

The recommendations were read out by Dr Rashid Ahmad Khan of the Islamabad Policy Research Institute and the house approved the same.

Through other recommendations, the conference while stressing that the mistakes of the past should be avoided, called for continuation of the peace process with India and friendship with the Arab-Islamic countries.

Emphasising promotion of Pakistan’s relations with ASEAN, it was urged that Pakistan should set achievable goals for its foreign policy.
