The United Nations’ relief chief Martin Griffiths has welcomed the Israel-Hamas truce and renewed the call for “full adherence to international humanitarian law”.

The UN official also called for the “protection of civilians, including by allowing them to seek safety from hostilities”, as well as for the “immediate and unconditional release” of all hostages held by Hamas.
