Tamar Alrifai, the communications director of the UN agency for Palestinians, has said humanitarian pauses or corridors are not sufficient to deliver lifesaving aid across the Gaza Strip and called for a complete ceasefire of hostilities.

In an interview with BBC, she said the UNRWA has long been calling for a ceasefire, highlighting that it was key to connect with northern Gaza — where Israeli forces are engaging in ground battles with Hamas.
