Gaza casualties too high to believe Israel doing ‘everything’ to protect civilians: EU’s Borrell
Josep Borrell, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, has said that the number of casualties in Gaza — among children in particular — is “too high to believe that everything is being done (by Israel) in order to protect civilians as international law requires”.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, when asked if the EU official thought what Israel was doing in Gaza was war crimes, he replied, “Well, I am not a lawyer but there is the International Criminal Court, which is going to investigate.”
However, Borrell replied in the positive when asked if the EU considered the Oct 7 attacks by Hamas as a war crime.
