KARACHI, Oct 16: The teaching of first-year arts classes commenced at St Joseph’s College on Tuesday.
The process was delayed for more than two weeks due to delay in notification of the merit list for admission of humanities group.
The teaching of first-year science classes at St Joseph’s started from Oct 2.
Meanwhile, computer theory classes have also begun at the college. However, computers have not been made available to the institution as yet.
The college administration remains optimistic that they would soon get the computers to initiate practical classes declared compulsory from this academic year.
There has been no headway towards the establishment of a computer lab at St. Joseph’s, nor has any meeting been held between the college management and the concerned officials of the education department.
No progress has either been made towards the initiation of Bachelor of Computer Science classes.
It may be recalled that the Sindh government is initiating the BCS course at ten selected colleges in the province on a no- profit-no-loss basis from the current academic session.—APP
