The Israeli army has said that in the past days its forces started fighting inside the Shati refugee camp on the outskirts of Gaza City, Al Jazeera reports.

The military stated it found a group of civilians in one of the buildings in the area and allowed them to evacuate through a secure route.

It also claimed that it killed several Hamas fighters and discovered infrastructure belonging to the group.
