Dr Ghassan Abu Sitta, a surgeon in Gaza, has said that as the functioning of four pediatric hospitals in the enclave “collapsed”, children with chronic illnesses do not have access to specialist medical care.

“We have had children with diabetes, asthma and autoimmune diseases seek medical care at the Emergency Room at Al Ahli [hospital].”
