CIA director William Burns has been in the Middle East for the past several days to hold talks on the idea of a three-day pause in attacks in return for the release of 10 to 15 captives, Al Jazeera reports.

Analysts say the talks appear to be gaining momentum.

Burns was first in Israel, then Egypt and now Qatar to negotiate the talks.
