LAHORE, Feb 14: The Punjab government imposed on Tuesday night a ban on taking out processions throughout the province. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi. “The ban has been imposed while keeping in view hardships and problems faced by people on Tuesday,” an official announcement said.
The meeting further decided that as per past practice public meetings could be held with the permission of city governments at specified spots.
The Minar-i-Pakistan ground had been earmarked for public meetings in Lahore, the announcement said.
