Accused wrested from bailiff

SAHIWAL, Feb 14: An accused who was arrested by a court bailiff was got released by his supporters, while the official was deprived of Rs2,500 and a cell phone.

Reports said Pakpattan Civil Judge Ahmad Saeed issued non-bailable arrest warrants of an accused, Rab Nawaz Gadhi, of Chak 94/9-L, against whom the court had also passed a decree.

A bailiff, Akram Zahid, was deputed to arrest the accused by the court of Sahiwal district and sessions judge.

The bailiff arrested the accused but his supporters, Rab Nawaz Bloch, Ejaz Khan, Zafar Iqbal, along with four unidentified women and three men, got him released forcibly from the court official.

The supporters of the accused also deprived Mr Zahid of Rs2,500 and a cell phone.

Police registered the case under sections 353, 379, 186 PPC without any arrests.

LOOTED: As many as six armed bandits took away 400 broiler chickens, Rs9,700 in cash and a motorcycle from a poultry farm near Chak 39/12-L on Monday night.

Reports said the bandits entered the poultry farm of one Zafar Iqbal and tied his partner Muhammad Tariq and three employees Tajamal, Zahid and Yusaf with ropes on gunpoint.

The outlaws loaded the birds and valuables on a pick-up van and fled away. Chichawatni Saddar police have registered the case under section 395 PPC with no arrests.
