Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has called the death of 11 soldiers in Gaza “a hard and painful blow”.

In a post on X, the defence minister said Israeli forces paid a “heavy price” during their ground operation in the Gaza strip despite making “significant” achievements.
