Israel’s foreign ministry has said Shani Louk, a 23-year-old German-Israeli woman captured by Hamas when it stormed a music festival in the Israeli desert, is dead, AFP reports.

“Our hearts are broken,” the ministry wrote in a message on X, formerly Twitter, as it confirmed Louk’s death.

“May her memory be a blessing.”
