World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said civilians, patients and health workers in Gaza spent the night in darkness and fear after Israel intensified strikes and ground operations, leading to a communication blackout.

“WHO reiterates its calls for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire; protection of health facilities, workers and patients; and urgent access for life-saving supplies into and throughout Gaza,” he said.
