UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths has said the world is failing to meet the bare entitlements of a part of humanity.

In a post on X, he noted that 20 days into Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, the attacks “are getting worse, even in areas supposed to be safer”.

“Aid is barely trickling in, despite our best efforts,” Griffiths said, emphasising that civilians must be protected and have what they need to survive.
