The European Union’s top diplomat Josep Borrell has said that a pause in military operations in Gaza would mean a temporary interruption of military activity and is a less ambitious demand than a proper ceasefire, Reuters reports.

During a meeting, European Union foreign ministers also shared views that a pause of military hostilities between Israel and armed forces in the Gaza strip was needed to allow for urgent humanitarian relief, Borrell said.
