Approximately 50,000 pregnant women in the Gaza Strip face challenges in accessing maternal healthcare due to Israeli attacks on facilities, Al Jazeera quotes the Palestinian health ministry as saying.

In a statement, the ministry said there were about 166 “unsafe births” per day.

“It is expected that 5,500 women will give birth in the coming month,” it added.
