Citing the Geneva Convention adopted on August 12, 1949, the United Nations has said that “even wars have rules”.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the UN stated that the “Geneva Convention protects civilians in conflict and helps ensure assistance reaches those in need, without discrimination”.
