Gaza’s largest hospital faces ‘catastrophic shortages’ amid overcrowding
Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest hospital, is facing catastrophic shortages of medical supplies, water, power and space for new patients, Al Jazeera reports.
Al Jazeera‘s correspondent Youmna El-Sayed shares that “thousands of people” had sought refuge in the hospital’s premises and its yard.
She highlighted that the hospital was “completely packed” with people, with most of the patients being children.
Dr Ayash Abu Warda, a surgeon there, said, “Unfortunately, the number of cases is difficult for us to manage all of them in one time.”
