Jirga calls for security

LANDI KOTAL, Feb 10: A jirga of the Shinwari tribe on Friday said they would discontinue using the Peshawar-Torkhum road if the political administration did not provide security to their vehicles.

The jirga also called upon the administration to allocate a separate place for vehicles of the Shinwari tribesmen at the Torkhum bus stand. The jirga urged authorities to take action against the Zakhakhels for blocking the road to Torkhum as a joint tribal jirga had decided against the road closure.

It said the Zakhakhel tribes had not released four of the Shinwaris’ vehicles which had been impounded when rival groups clashed over the coach stand.
