Uniform for Lakki Marwat teachers

LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 8: The schools and literacy department has decided to introduce uniform for teachers of state-run schools in the Lakki Marwat district as part of education sector reforms.

Sources said that matters pertaining to uniform for teachers, inspection of and time schedule for schools, electricity bills, examination of class five and eight, discontinuation of short leave and transparent utilisation of Parent-Teacher Association funds came under discussion in various meetings held between teachers and the schools and literacy department.

The sources said that the participants had agreed to the proposal presented by the

EDO Schools and Literacy Attaullah Khan that uniform should be introduced for schoolteachers.

The administrators of the high and higher secondary schools were directed to check the repair work being carried out under the supervision of the Parent-Teacher Association and ensure transparent utilisation of funds.

Teachers were directed to keep their cellular phones off during school hours and students were barred from bringing mobile phones to schools.

The sources said that teachers were also barred from availing of short leaves.
