FAISALABAD, Feb 7: Jaranwala police could not resolve the mystery of remains of seven human bodies found from a canal a couple of days ago.

Police sources said the remains of human bodies had been sent to the King Edward Medical College for analysis and medical examination.

The police investigators were of the view that the remains indicated that two children and five women were murdered and their bodies were thrown into the canal after raping theses in a floor-mat.

As the canal passes through Sheikhpura and Gujranwala districts, it was possible the remains were thrown in these areas.

“We are also trying to trace the incidents in which two or more persons went missing in these areas, so that the mystery could be resolved. However, the task is difficult but we are trying our best,” Jaranwala DSP said.
