TOBA TEK SINGH, Feb 7: District Nazim Chaudhry Abdul Sattar has accused his successor Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq of adopting wrong policies regarding education department.

Speaking to a gathering at Chak 299-JB on Tuesday, he alleged that Chaudhry Ashfaq unlawfully collected fees from students of government educational institutions to recruit contract lecturers and school teachers in the district.

With the collected amount, he alleged, the former district nazim recruited lecturers paying only Rs2,000 per month to them and school teachers for only Rs1,200 per month.

He said the policy not only put an extra burden on the poor parents but also created inferiority complex among the recruited lecturers and teachers by giving them nominal salaries.

He also claimed the amount collected from the students was much more than the total salaries paid to the teachers and nobody knew about the remaining amount.

He said during his tenure strict merit would be implemented while recruiting teachers against vacant posts.
