TAXILA: Robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs 1.35 million in six different robberies in various areas of Taxila and Hassanabdal on Tuesday.

Four armed robbers snatched Rs400,000 cash from the employees of a medicine supply company on a busy railway road in the limits of Taxila police station on Tuesday.

Moreover, burglars broke into the house of Mohammad Suleman in the limits of Taxila Police station and escaped with Rs50,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs200,000.

Burglars broke into the house of Syed Kazim Abbas in the New City area in the limits of Wah Saddar Police station and fled with Rs200,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs500,000.

In Hassanabdal, four armed robbers looted Rs400,000 by taking hostage the staff and customers at gun point of a pharmacy store located just opposite tehsil headquarters hospital on Hazara road in the limits of Hassanabdal Police station.

Loot cash, valuables worth Rs1.35 million in a single day

Moreover, two armed robbers deprived Hasrat Khan and Khurrum Shahzad of their three mobile phones, Rs135,000 cash at gunpoint near Fauji Mill area on G.T. Road and fled away with looted items.

Separately, an armed robber deprived Owais Khan of cash and other valuables opposite Cadet college on G.T. Road in the limits of the same police station.

The residents of the area have appealed to the Inspector General of Police and the Regional Police officer (RPO) to take notice of the increasing robberies.

Two abducted

Two persons including an employee of a sensitive organisation went missing under mysterious circumstances in Wah Saddar police area on Tuesday.

In the first incident, Syed Farzand Hussain reported to police that his son Zulqurnian Hussain Shah was going back to his station of duty at Mangla Cantt after availing his leave when he was abducted by unknown persons from Basti bus stop on G.T. Road.

Separately, Rehmat Bhatti has reported to police that his 40-year-old daughter was abducted by unknown persons.

Wah Saddar police registered two separate cases and launched a haunt to recover the abducted persons.

Vehicle lifter arrested

The Wah Cantonment Police on Tuesday arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered two stolen vehicles from his possession.

According to the police spokesman, the vehicle lifter identified as Arif Mehmood stole a Suzuki van from the Wah Cantonment police area and was taking it to Azad Kashmir when he was arrested.

During interrogation, a stolen taxi car was also recovered from his possession. He also confessed to having lifted many vehicles from the area.
