LAHORE, Feb 5: Newsmen, trade unionists, political and human rights activists on Sunday paid tribute to journalist Zafaryab Ahmed who died of heart attack on Jan 25.

The South Asia Free Media Association had arranged a reference to underline contribution of Mr Zafaryab towards these fields. Speakers, including I.A. Rehman, Munnoo Bhai, Husain Naqi and Jehangir Badr, said Mr Zafaryab symbolized defiance all his life: defiance to politics and journalism of status quo.
