Accused dies in lock-up

JACOBABAD, Feb 5: A man accused of kidnapping and killing a boy died mysteriously in the lock-up of the city police station here on Saturday night.

Abdul Ghaffar Shaikh, 30, had been arrested four days ago. His body was shifted to the Jacobabad civil hospital.

Taluka Police Officer Khuda Bux Panhwar told newsmen that the accused suffered cardiac arrest.

According to first post-mortem report, the cause of death was severe torture as torture marks were evident from the body.

Relatives of the deceased carrying the body blocked the National Highway in protest for two hours.—BoC
