LAHORE, Feb 1: Zeeshan Khan and Shafiq Ahmed rescued Rest of Punjab from total disaster against Peshawar on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I match at Gaddafi Stadium Friday.
Put into bat first, Rest of Punjab lost their first seven wickets for 98 runs but recovered to reach 202 in their first innings.
Peshawar were 57 without loss.
Zeeshan and Shafiq lifted Punjab out of deep trouble by putting on 76 fir the eighth-wicket. Zeeshan batted watchfully for an unbeaten 89 off 155 balls in 198 minutes. He slammed 11 fours and two sixes. Shafiq scored 38 off 59 balls with four fours and two sixes.
