All set for Kashmir Day rally

LAHORE, Feb 4: Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja on Saturday reviewed arrangements for the Kashmir Day rally, which is scheduled to be led by Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi here on Sunday (today).

The rally being held to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people will start from the Nasser Bagh. The minister said Section 144 imposed to ban public rallies and processions had been lifted all over the province for one day (Sunday) to allow people to observe the event in a befitting manner.

Punjab PML Secretary-General Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan, who is also communication minister, Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood and officers of the city district administration were also present.

After the meeting, Basharat Raja said the PML workers would enthusiastically participate in the rally. He said the local representatives and PML members from Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Kasur and other nearby cities would also take part in the rally in large numbers.

Traffic and security officials had been directed to provide all possible facilities to the participants, he said. Later, he inspected the route of the proposed rally from the Nasser Bagh.
