PCB saddened by demise of Naushad Ali

PESHAWAR: Chair­man of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Interim Management Comm­­i­ttee Zaka Ashraf, other officials and staff members of the Board on Sunday expressed their profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former Test cricketer Naushad Ali, who breathed his last at the age of 79.

In a condolence message, Zaka said, “On behalf of the PCB, I want to express my deepest condolences on the sad demise of Naushad Ali. We share the grief with his friends and family members and extend our deepest sympathies.”

Right-handed Naushad, a wicket-keeper/batter, featured in six Test matches, all against New Zealand in 1965. Besides serving as the manager of Pakistan men’s team, he also operated as match referee.
