RAHIM YAR KHAN: Punjab Caretaker Minister Bilal Afzal has directed the Wildlife (South Punjab) director general to submit a detailed report on the affairs of the local wildlife park by 16th.

The direction follows a video shot reportedly by a park visitor which showed remains of dead birds and animals lying in their enclosures.

He said the inquiry committee would include independent representatives of the University of Animal Sciences and other institutions.

The minister said a team of wildlife experts had started inspection of all zoos and wildlife parks in Punjab and would submit a report on the facilities available there.

“In the light of team report, the wild parks and zoos will be graded,” he said.
