LARKANA: Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nusrat Shah has announced that four girls’ hostels of the Chandka Medical College (CMC) have been named after late Prof Dr Bilquees Malik for her unparalleled services to the ailing humanity and her great efforts towards the establishment of Shaikh Zayed Hospital for Women.

She was speaking at a reference held at the CMC on Friday. Paying homage to the late luminary in the medical profession, the VC said Prof Bilquees was humble with students and patients alike and dedicated to her profession.

She pledged efforts in consultation with the university’s senate, syndicate and deans to rename the CMC as ‘Prof Bilquees Malik Teaching Hospital’. She said she also wished that the college’s state-of-the-art digital library, which was nearing completion, also be named after Prof Malik, who dedicated her entire life to her profession and people of Larkana district.
