Journalist passes away

LAHORE: Journalist Abdul Hafeez Zafar passed away here on Wednesday after a protracted illness. He was 67.

His brother told Dawn he had multiple health issues, mainly diabetes, and was bedridden for the last seven or so months.

He was laid to rest at the Miani Sahib graveyard.

His qul will be held on Friday (tomorrow) after Asr prayers at his residence, 331-B, New Chauburji Park. He worked with The Nation, The News, Express TV and Duniya newspaper.

Zafar was witty and lively and had a good knowledge of movies. He was a sensitive soul and was into poetry as well. In his youth, he wrote stories for children, besides some short stories.
