Asim’s second fifty in vain

LAHORE,Feb 1: Four wickets by leg-spinner Mansoor Amjad helped National Bank of Pakistan gain a five-wicket win against PTCL in a Patron’s Trophy Grade-I tie at Sheikhupura Stadium on Wednesday.

PTCL, who had conceded 88-runs lead could set a winning target of 170 for NBP after being all out for 257 in the second innings as they resumed at 5-131.

Asim Kamal, who scored 95 in the first innings, scored his second fifty of the match (52 not out) and with Muhammad Hussain (40), added 77 runs in the seventh-wicket stand but it went in vain. Shahzad Malik also contributed 51 with seven fours and one six.

Shahid Yousuf (47) and Nauman Ullah (40 not out) ensured bankers achieve the target.
