TOBA TEK SINGH: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has introduced digital technology to expedite town planning reports and ownership clearance certificates.

A meeting presided over by FDA Director General (DG) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry on Wednesday reviewed the implementation of digital technology where Operations Director Qaseem Alvi briefed the attendees about the digital application process, highlighting its potential for streamlining departmental procedures and monitoring application status efficiently.

The DG said quick service delivery to applicants was a key part of their reform agenda, and adopting a digital method for processing applications is a revolutionary step to facilitate citizens.

The focus of the digital system is to issue town planning reports and ownership clearance certificates on the same day of application submission, eliminating the need for applicants to make repeated visits to the FDA office.

The FDA DG instructed the officers to develop a robust system to ensure timely relief for applicants and emphasized the use of SMS notifications to keep applicants updated about the status of their applications.

In his directives, he also emphasised the importance of maintaining merit and transparency in official affairs, urging the avoidance of unjustified delays in resolving public matters.
